Ellington Prep has created an environment which allows students to have the best Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math "STEAM," educational experience, while preparing for college, authentic intern and externships which lead to valid employment and college acceptances.

Morning Meeting is a  tradition that puts the spotlight on individual students, while bringing together the entire school. Whether it’s a senior's presentation, senior year each student makes a presentation - sometimes academic, sometimes musical, sometimes funny, always poignant political perspective, or an update on the latest team sports scores, dates and times of club meetings, students take center stage. We also invite guests from the community to make special presentations on a variety of topics.

Ellington Prep has joined with professional Entertainers, Producers, Television Personalities, Choreographers, Musicians, Authors, Vocalist, Engineers, Scientist, Physicians and many others to create an environment that cultivates authentic learning, experiential learning for outstanding academic success.  All students will be placed with counselors that will aid in guiding from Freshman to Senior year leaving room only for success, fun development and growth!
Traditions Make Ellington Prep Exciting!!!
Both serious and fun traditions remain at the core of our school culture. From daily Morning Meeting led by the  Head of School, School Community, Teachers & Students, where we start the day, to the spirited fun of Brass & Keys competitions, we  will maintain a respectful and dynamic school culture for both students and faculty alike. The Brass & Keys Competition is one of the most enjoyable aspects of Ellington Prep; it's also one of Prep's  traditions that has historic roots in this country for many institutions.  Each fall, on "Brass & Keys Day," every student, faculty, and staff member is made a member of either team. For life. It is also an inheritance - team membership is passed on through siblings, parents, aunts and uncles. The two teams battle to win points in contests throughout the year - particularly for Spirit Month, Brass & Keys Day, the Blue Moon Walk, skits, contest, Math-Science Bowl, Oratorical/Poetry Slam, Rappers Delight Contest, holiday ugly sweater, school decorating, talent show, Debate contest, and finally, the Composers Extravaganza.  At the end of the year, the points are tallied, and the name of the winning team is engraved on Brass & Keys Plaque, star studded dinner and awards

ceremony.

Ellington Prep Athletic Program focuses on Boys/ Girls Basketball, Fencing, Track & Field.

All Ellington Prep athletes will have the opportunity to reach collegiate Division I, in their perspective sport with professional coaching local, state, national coaching and parental support.

Morning Meeting: The culture of Ellington Prep is based on community. That's why each school day begins at 7:50 a.m. in the morning with a Morning Meeting. Led by the Head of School all of the students and faculty gather together for  presentations, and announcements.
